WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2013, by Dr. Avi Shatzkes, ADS Talent Consulting provides executive coaching, assessment and other consulting services to financial services companies, law firms and corporate clients. Within the financial services sector ADS has worked extensively with banks, private equity firms, hedge funds, wealth management and asset management firms. We have worked with front office groups as well as functions such as technology, finance, risk, legal, operations and human resources.

With decades of experience, ADS consultants work with clients to identify and implement meaningful, practical and sustainable solutions.

Avi Shatzkes

FOUNDER, CEO

Dr. Avi Shatzkes has over 20 years of experience advising clients around a variety of business opportunities and challenges. He focuses his independent consulting practice on helping organizations and individuals enhance their marketplace advantages and realize their goals and aspirations, with the following areas of expertise:

Assessing skill and potential –  Working with organizations to assess talent for development or selection.  Significant experience working with Private Equity firms on portfolio company talent development and decision making.

Executive coaching – Working with individual leaders to enhance their effectiveness and impact.  This includes supporting and preparing for role expansions, accelerating development of high potentials & eliminating negative behavior.

Assessment research, design and validation – Designing assessment processes, i.e. testing, structured interviews, or simulations, to improve talent selection.  This includes conducting job analyses, competency modeling, designing assessment tools, conducting validation studies, training internal assessors and supporting implementation/ongoing usage.  Recent work includes software engineers, quantitative strategists & credit investors.

Increasing organizational effectiveness – Working with leaders to ensure organizational structure and management processes support the mission & long-term continuity i.e. organization design, talent planning, organization change etc.

Before starting his practice in 2013, Avi worked as both an internal and external executive consultant.  As an external consultant, Avi worked within the Heidrick & Struggles financial services leadership consulting practice.  Avi also was a senior consultant for Personnel Decisions International (PDI).  His responsibilities at PDI included managing a diverse portfolio of clients as well as leading the New York region assessment and competency modeling practices.  As an internal consultant, Dr. Shatzkes was a leadership development executive at Bank of America (BAML) where he led teams supporting various businesses including Global Markets, Investment Banking, Capital Markets and Private Banking.  Additionally, Avi has worked at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch (ML) and ATT in their respective talent management functions. While at ML, Dr. Shatzkes’s  research on assessing financial sales performance became the basis for his doctoral dissertation.

Avi received a Ph.D. and M.A. in industrial/organizational psychology from New York University and a B.A. in psychology from Yeshiva University.

Dr. Michael Warech has over thirty years of experience advising clients around a variety of business and human capital opportunities and challenge

Increasing organizational effectiveness – Working with leadership to ensure organizational structure and management processes support the mission and long-term continuity i.e., succession planning, talent reviews, organization design, competency modeling, performance management, selection

Analyzing talent data and conducting organizational research – Working with organizations to collect and/or leverage data to improve talent and organizational decision making

Employee engagement and employee experience branding –  Working with organizations to asses and leverage employee engagement as a working asset; helping organizations understand and align their external brand with the internal employee experience brand to assist in the attraction and retention of critical talent

Managing change – Working with organizations to lead and manage large, complex organizational capability and change initiatives

Michael has decades of experience designing, developing, and implementing data-driven human capital solutions that demonstrably impact an organization’s bottom line. He has designed, developed and managed numerous engagements for a variety of Fortune 1000 companies, across multiple industry sectors, including financial services. Michael’s consulting work focuses on talent management and other competency-based human resource system applications (i.e., selection, performance management, succession planning, learning and leadership development, and, career management systems), HR transformation, HR analytics, employee engagement survey design and analysis, organization design, employment branding, organization development and change management. Michael received a Ph.D. and M.S. in industrial/organizational psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology and a B.S. in psychology from Emory University.

Before starting his practice, Avi worked as both an internal and external executive consultant. Most recently, Avi led the Heidrick & Struggles financial services leadership consulting practice. Prior to Heidrick, Dr. Shatzkes was a leadership development executive at Bank of America (BAC) where he led leadership development teams supporting various businesses including global markets, investment banking, capital markets and private banking. His team of internal consultants led the Global Markets fixed income, equity, capital markets and research businesses through the Merrill Lynch merger and subsequent integration.
